I love to use the human form to portray an idea, story or state of mind. It is my wish to create and provoke something new and unique for each viewer. |

I am a native of Chicago. Drawing and painting was a constant in my life. Chicago offered an opportunity to notice and appreciate obvious and vast variations in form, seasons and cultures. It also gave me the opportunity to view the same variations and notice the similarities and patterns thus cementing my appreciation of all things different, extreme and similar. I studied life drawing at The American Academy of Art. I also studied graphic design and illustration and received a degree in Advertising Art and Design but craved the freedom of a studio artist. From Chicago I moved to London where I further developed my studies in drawing and painting at The American College in London. Later, I kept up my drawing and painting in Houston. My early sculptures were two-dimensional ideas being created in three-dimensional form. Finally I began to think about and execute my ideas as three-dimensional forms. It’s very exciting for me to see an idea through from conception to completion. |
